The project “I, YOU, WE, THEY CAN” aims to promote the social inclusion of young people with disabilities through the development of innovative methodologies for professionals in the social, educational, and medical fields.

DESCRIPTION

The project “I, YOU, WE, THEY CAN” aims to promote the social inclusion of young people with disabilities through the development of effective and innovative inclusive methodologies for professionals in the social, educational, and medical fields.
Considering that the “I, YOU, WE, THEY CAN” project addresses the need to strengthen inclusion strategies for young people with disabilities and contribute to improving their quality of life through the development of a facilitation manual and the organization of training and awareness-raising activities.
The main goal of the project is to enhance the training of professionals working with young people with disabilities. This will be achieved through research, the creation of a reference manual, and the implementation of training activities in three European countries.

OBJECTIVES

1. Improve educational and professional practices in dealing with people with disabilities.
2. Increase social awareness about inclusion and the accessibility of educational systems.
3. Offer a positive impact on social inclusion policies and strategies at the EU level and in candidate countries.

TARGET GROUPS

  1. People with Disabilities (PwD):
    • Young people aged 18 to 29 years in Skopje, Starachowice, Alzira, and other regions of the participating countries.
    • Accompanied by family members or assistants.
  2. Professionals in the social, medical, and educational sectors:
    • Doctors, social workers, educators, and specialized assistants working with PwD.
  3. General public:
    • The wider society, to raise awareness about inclusion and diversity.

EXPECTED RESULTS

  1. Improve professional competencies:
    • Train educators, social workers, and health professionals in innovative methods and approaches for working with people with disabilities.
    • Adapt strategies to meet the needs of young people with disabilities who require more complex approaches.
  2. Create a “Manual for Facilitating Social, Medical, and Educational Professionals”:
    • A manual with strategies, methods, and practical protocols based on research and best practices.
    • Improve interaction and support for people with disabilities, even in underdeveloped infrastructures.
  3. Promote social and educational inclusion:
    • Develop inclusive teaching, communication, and evaluation techniques.
    • Encourage competency-based learning, creativity, and collaboration among professionals.
  4. Raise awareness about inclusion and social diversity:
    • Produce a documentary reflecting the energy and impact of the project.
    • Showcase the work of experts and the experiences of young people with disabilities throughout the project.

INTERVIEW ON ONDA CERO

We had the opportunity to share and promote the amazing European Project I, You, We, They Can on Onda Cero. This initiative aims to foster the social inclusion of young people with disabilities by developing effective and innovative inclusive methodologies for professionals in the social, educational, and medical fields.

We spoke with Luís Méndez and explained to his audience how this inclusive project addresses the need to strengthen strategies for the inclusion of young people with disabilities, and how it contributes to improving their quality of life through the creation of a Manual for Facilitation of Social, Medical and Education Professionals in Working with Young People with Disabilities.
